ALLEYJAUNT is a collective of independent artists (Jennifer Bulthuis, Lise Beaudry and Paul McClure) developing public platforms to integrate art into the community. They program and produce works for presentation through non-traditional spaces.

alley-jaunt-map-2006.jpgAlley Jaunt 2006 map. "Alley Jaunt" asked neighbourhood residents to offer up their car garages as a makeshift temporary art gallery.

Each garage was located on a map, as part of a show passport, and they were mostly accessible on foot (or jaunt) via the alley back entrance that most downtown houses have access to.

It was quite successful and popular.

Not sure why they discontinued it. May be a combination of time/life commitment in curating an annual event plus arts funding challenges.
